Leslie Schefman

Leslie Schefman started piano lessons at the age of four, and has been a working musician since he was 15. A multi-instrumentalist, Les has composed and produced music for dozens of national and regional advertisements, television shows, and venues. His music has been featured in Emmy, Renaissance and Communicator award-winning productions, as well as the score for the Detroit Film Festival’s award for Best Picture. Representative projects have included venues such as Epcot Center and the North American International Auto Show, national and regional ads for clients including General Motors, Budweiser, Chevrolet, Ford, The United States Navy, Jeep, Wagner Brakes, Audi, Dodge, Volkswagen, Cadillac, La-Z-Boy, the State of Michigan, and Ohio Tourism. Recordings of Leslie’s electronic and hybrid work has been released as Persistence of Memory. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School. In addition to his work as a composer, Leslie has been a guest lecturer on the subjects of advertising music production and music rights at the University of Michigan School of Music and the University of Detroit College of Law. He has served as a member of the Steering Committee of the State Bar of Michigan’s Entertainment Law Section.
