Tsumugu Misugi

Tsumugu Misugi is a Japan-born, multi-instrumentalist and composer for film, television, and video games. Splitting his time between Tokyo and Singapore, he brings a global perspective to his music, blending Eastern sensitivity with Western cinematic flair. A graduate of the School of the Arts, Singapore, and Berklee College of Music, Tsumugu writes across a wide spectrum of genres—from intimate lo-fi textures to sweeping orchestral scores. His recent work includes composing for acclaimed Korean dramas such as When Life Gives You Tangerines (Netflix) and Marry My Husband (Amazon Prime). His music has been performed and recorded by orchestras across Asia and Europe, including ensembles in Singapore, Japan, Budapest, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic. Classically trained on the violin from the age of three, Tsumugu’s deep instrumental foundation informs his expressive style. As a performer and session musician, he has contributed to a variety of soundtracks, including the Japanese feature film MY (K)NIGHT and the popular video game Arena of Valor. He also collaborates with international pop artists such as Diana Wang, Omar, and Gentle Bones, offering arrangement and recording across classical and contemporary genres.
