KYOSEI
Kyoto-based Girls Cyber Punk band Kyosei (去勢) burst onto the scene in 2021, bringing together crushing alternative rock, sharp musicianship, and an unpredictable live energy that quickly set them apart.
Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Yokusou-chan (欲躁ちゃん), Kyosei balance playful, chaotic personalities with an intensely powerful sound. Their performances move between cute, cool, funny, and completely unhinged—backed by the kind of musicianship and raw energy that makes the contrast hit even harder.
At the heart of Kyosei is Yokusou-chan’s distinctive songwriting. Surreal humor, everyday frustrations, uncomfortable truths, personal experiences, and wildly biased observations all find their way into the lyrics, creating songs that can be hilarious, strange, confrontational, and unexpectedly relatable at the same time.
The band moved fast from the beginning, releasing their first two EPs within six months of forming and completing a 20-date tour across Japan. After a two-year hiatus, Kyosei returned with their third EP, Dagashiya de 2 Jikan Matta yo Marimi-chan, and hit the road once again.
Now fully back in action, Kyosei are continuing to build a world entirely their own—loud, eccentric, fearless, and impossible to take too seriously. With ambitions stretching well beyond Japan, their next chapter may be their biggest and strangest yet.
